Local Oversight Program
The Merced County Department of Public Health, Division of Environmental Health has relinquished its Local Oversight Program effective 07/01/2013 to the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB (5S)) in Rancho Cordova, California.
The RWQCB will provide regulatory oversight for investigations and cleanups when needed where underground storage tanks (USTs) and their accompanying pipes and pumps leaked petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel.
Leakage at current and former fuel stations and bulk petroleum facilities can occur. Specific information on open and closed sites within Merced County can be found in the RWQCB’s website GeoTracker. You may also contact the RWQCB by phone at (916) 464-3291.
