Responsibilities

The Registrar of Voters Office handles a variety of responsibilities, some of which include:

• Registering voters and keeping the voter registration file
• Conducting federal, state, and local elections
• Filing candidates running for office and filing campaign statements
• Providing voter information and information on the nomination process to candidates and campaigns
• Procuring polling places in Merced County
• Recruiting and training all poll workers
