Deputy Robert Hawkins and K-9 Kane

Hawkins and KaneDeputy Robert Hawkins and K9 Kane have been a team since April 2015. Deputy Hawkins has almost 10 years of Law Enforcement experience, 11 years in EMS, and 5 years as a Paid Call Firefighter. After serving four years as an Infantryman in the United States Marine Corps, Deputy Hawkins began his career in Public Safety. Currently, Deputy Hawkins is with SWAT as a Tactical Medic, a Range Instructor, 1st Aid / CPR Instructor, current Paramedic for the Sheriff's Department, and K9 Handler.

K9 Kane is a dual purpose patrol canine. Kane's primary duty is apprehension, but also is trained to track suspects, lost children, and adults. Kane's secondary duty is sniff-searching for nitrates, mainly ammunition and firearms. K9 Kane works well with children during demos and is helpful to calm children that are upset on calls for service.
