Disposing of medications down the toilet, drain, or in the garbage (residential or commercial) is harmful to the environment. You can dispose of your unwanted or expired prescription and non-prescription medications in the red-colored "MedReturn Drug Collection Bin" located in the front of the Merced County Sheriff's Office (Merced, CA) and the Charles F. Bludworth Sub-station in Delhi, CA.
Please, remove pills from the plastic bottles and place them in a Ziploc bag. We will accept creams and gels in the original container, just be sure the lids are on tight and they are sealed in a plastic bag.
Please, no needles or syringes - If you need to dispose of hypodermic needles, please call the Merced County Sheriff's Office Property Room at (209) 726-0665 and we will meet with you for disposal. Thank you.
