Overview The Sheriff receives, serves, and executes all civil processes and orders that are accepted for service, in the manner prescribed by California Law.
Merced County Sheriff Civil Bureau - Service Requirments Merced County Sheriff Civil Bureau requires original Instructions to the Sheriff of Merced County complete with physical address where service is to be made & signed by the Plaintiff or his/her Attorney, a copy of the document(s), front and back, for each person to be served.
All documents must be accompanied by the appropriate fee or a certified court-ordered fee waiver. You may make any/all check or money order payments made out to Merced County Sheriff’s Office. All fees are per service. Two defendants equal two services, even if they are at the same address. Please refer to the fee chart listed below.
For levies and evictions, we require the original writ of execution plus two copies. Please include more copies if you have more than one levy.
