The Merced County Technical Rescue Team (MCTRT) main purpose is to provide high quality technical rescue resources with skilled and dedicated personnel who are immediately available for response. MCTRT consists of members who take great pride in the services they provide and who aggressively pursue high levels of training and experience opportunities in order to provide effective and efficient service

Equipment

MCTRT is responsible for one Rescue certified to the California Office of Emergency Services (OES) Medium Level. Medium level OES certification requires training and equipment that enables the Division to operate safely and effectively at structural collapse incidents statewide, including the collapse or failure of reinforced and unreinforced masonry, concrete tilt-up and heavy timber construction. Rescue 71 is equipped to handle a variety of incidents ranging from Confined space rescue, Auto extrication, Trench rescue, Structure collapse, and High/low angle rope rescue.

County Wide Response

MCTRT through a (MOU)-Memorandum of Understanding that provides a county-wide, multi-agency rescue team that includes Local Government Agencies Atwater City Fire Department, Los Banos City Fire Department, and Merced City Fire Department. This collaboration improves interoperability and provides each agency with equipment, training, and personnel.
