Fish & Shellfish Consumption Advisory
Pursuant to Health and Safety Code section 116090.7, local Environmental Health Divisions are required to post signage provided by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), a state agency-that warns fishermen and persons that may consume wild caught fish of the risks associated with them.
There are specific advisories for four water bodies located in Merced County and specific fish that might be caught in them. The water bodies are the San Luis Reservoir, the O’Neill Forebay, the Los Banos Reservoir and the San Joaquin River as it transects Merced County. Advisories will be posted in conspicuous places around the water bodies. See the links below for information and advisories specific to each water body.
