Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI)

Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI) provides cash assistance to certain aged, blind, and disabled legal non-citizens who are ineligible to Supplemental Security Income/State Supplemental Payment (SSI/SSP) due to their immigration status. 

To be eligible for CAPI an individual must:

• Be a non-citizen and meet the immigration status criteria,
• Be ineligible for SSI/SSP solely due to immigration status,
• Be 65 years old or older, blind, or disabled,
• Be a resident of California,
• Have income less than the CAPI standards,
• Have resources below the allowable limits of $2000 for an individual or $3000 for a couple.
