Adult System of Care (ASOC)

Merced County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS), through the Adult System of Care (ASOC), provides and array of behavioral health and supportive services to the population of Merced County, aged 18 years and older, living with a Serious Mental Illness (SMI).  BHRS strives to mitigate some of those impacts by providing a seamless system of care for our consumers through a collaborative network of County operated programs, County contracted agencies, such as our Full Service Partnership (FSP) program, and other community resources.

BHRS operates from the vision of the Recovery Model framework that all who are living with a mental illness can lead full and productive lives through empowerment with hope, recovery, and wellness.   Services provided are aimed at assisting people on their road to recovery through symptom reduction and management.  Comprehensive holistic care is provided with respect for the individual, and acknowledgement of their inherent resiliency and right to self-determination.
