Unsolved Cases

Unsolved Cases Header copy

The Merced County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau has invested its resources into investigating and solving cold case homicides and missing persons. The Major Crimes Unit focuses on those cases with the highest probability of being solved with fresh leads and new forensic technology.

Our mission is to give a voice to those who can no longer speak for themselves and our ultimate goal is to give answers and a sense of closure to the loved ones of every murder victim and missing persons.

While each case is unique, most of these homicide cases have gone unsolved for years and there are no active leads for investigators to pursue. Our hope is to bring awareness by re-publicizing cold cases from time to time with the hope that someone with information will come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Merced County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau at 209-385-7472. Any information given can remain anonymous and could help solve these crimes.
