Immunizations

Services

The Public Health Department has two clinic sites located in Merced and Los Banos. If your child has health insurance you should go to your Primary Care Provider for their immunizations.

Immunizations services are offered for children and adults at both sites. These services are often used for children entering school an adults needing immunizations

Fees

Free or low cost immunization for children 18 years and younger who do not have insurance or whose insurance does not cover immunizations are available through the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC).

School Entry Requirement for Junior High School Students — Tdap Booster

A new school immunization law requires all students entering 7th grades be immunized with a pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine booster called Tdap. Children should visit their regular doctor or healthcare provider to get their Tdap booster and other immunizations as soon as possible to avoid the back-to-school rush. Medi-Cal and most private insurances cover the cost of immunizations.

Adult Immunizations

Limited Adult immunizations are available at both sites (Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis AB combination, and Tdap).
