[ARCHIVED] Merced County Sheriff's Office Enforces New County Marijuana Grow Laws

On January 3, 2018 the Merced County Sheriff’s Office
located an outdoor Marijuana grow in the 16000 block of Corner Street in Delhi,California.  When deputies arrived at the
residence at about 8:00am, they immediately saw obvious signs of a commercialindoor marijuana cultivation operation.  Additionally, the back yard showed signs of an outdoor grow that had
been harvested. 


A search warrant was granted by a Merced County SuperiorCourt Judge and upon entering the residence, deputies found the entire house
had been converted into a commercial indoor marijuana cultivationoperation.  The Merced County Sheriff’s
Office confiscated 1,375 plants being cultivated along with 110 pounds ofprocessed marijuana that was packaged and ready for shipment.  No suspects found at the residence during the
search warrant and the crime is still an ongoing investigation.


Sheriff Vern Warnke reminds everyone that the Merced CountySheriff’s Office will be enforcing the cultivation laws regarding marijuana
that the county has put in place starting in 2018.  All outdoor marijuana grows are illegal andwill be dealt with immediately and prosecuted to the full extent of the
