[ARCHIVED] Merced County Employees, Check This Out!

Merced County Employee Poll Worker Flyer

It is increasingly difficult to staff our polling locations on Election Day. The complexity of the election process demands poll workers who have skills in many areas. Merced County Employees have the skills we need! The Board of Supervisors supports and commends poll workers for their service and encourages county employees to contribute to the democratic process by serving as poll workers.

About the Program

· County Employees are required to request and receive approval on their application from their department head for an absence. Employees need approval because they are not required to use either accumulated vacation or compensating time-off for the absence on Election Day. Employees will receive regular pay for their normally scheduled hours in addition to the Poll Worker Stipend.

· Merced County will not pay overtime compensation for service as a poll worker on Election Day.
