You are hereby notified that an Election for the Second (2nd) General Member, Seventh (7th) Safety Member  and Eighth (8th) Alternate Retired Member for the Merced County Employees’ Retirement Association Board will be held on March 30, 2021.

March 4, 2021                                     Random Alpha Drawing for Candidate Order (9:00AM)

March 9, 2021                                     Distribution of Election Ballots

March 30, 2021                                   Final Date to Return Voted Ballot to Registrar of Voters

March 31, 2021                                   Canvassing (Counting) the Ballots

 

*NOTE:  Any general, safety or retired member who desires to run for election to the Retirement Board must request a nomination paper utilizing the Merced County Registrar of Voters Office Candidate Filing Portal www.countyofmerced.com/CandidateFilingPortal.  Access to the candidate filing portal and candidate filing appointments will be available beginning February 17, 2021 through March 3, 2021.  The completed nomination paper must be returned to the Merced County Registrar of Voters Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 3, 2021.  

 

The Merced County Registrar of Voters Office is located at 2222 M Street, Merced.  Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Appointments are required.

 

Each candidate who completes the nomination paperwork will be given the opportunity to submit a Candidate Statement of Qualifications.  This statement is due no later than 5:00 p.m. March 3, 2021, is limited to 150 words, and must be submitted by the candidate on a jump drive or by e-mail.  Each statement must be in block form and standard 12 point type.

 

Each eligible voter will receive an official ballot to vote by mail.  Ballots will be mailed March 9, 2021 to all who are eligible general, safety or retired members as of January 17, 2021.
