Dos Palos, CA- Homicide
On April 22, 2021, at approximately 1101 hours, Merced County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 16000 Block of Highway 33 in Dos Palos for a welfare check of a Hispanic male adult with blood on his face. The California Highway Patrol and Riggs Ambulance were the first to arrive on scene and located the victim behind a residence near a vehicle. Officers and Medical personnel attempted life-saving measures but unfortunately, the victim did not survive and was pronounced deceased on scene. The victim, whose name will not be released pending notification to next of kin, had been shot at least one time.
After a thorough investigation with numerous interviews by investigators, Detective Ortiz and Detective Ramirez identified the suspect as 47-year-old Hugo Noe Sanchez, of Dos Palos.
Investigators arrested Sanchez and recovered the gun used in the crime. Detectives booked Sanchez into the Merced County Jail for First Degree Murder.
