Applications to Be Accepted for Airport Land Use Commission

Applications are being sought for individuals who are interested in serving as a governing board member of the Merced County Airport Land Use Commission. 

Interested parties need to complete the Application for Membership and Supplemental Questionnaire, which can be found on the Boards, Committees, & Commissions page.

These forms can also be obtained at the Board of Supervisors Office. Contact the Clerk of the Board at (209) 385-7366 for the forms to be mailed or provided through email. Completed applications and questionnaires can be mailed to the Clerk or dropped off at the Board of Supervisors Office anytime from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during normal business days. 

Applications received will be considered for two existing at-large openings. The purpose of the Commission is to promote aviation for the safety and welfare of the general public. Both positions are for four-year terms. 

The application period will end at 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Those who are eligible will be interviewed by the designated Standing Committee for At-large Membership, which will submit a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors for appointment. 

Members of the Commission are required by the California Fair Political Practices Commission to complete a Form-700 Statement of Economic Interests. Meetings are normally held quarterly at 2 p.m. on Thursdays.
