Merced County District Attorney Larry D. Morse II announced today that John Goold has been promoted to Chief Deputy District Attorney to fill the position vacated by Mark Bacciarini, who was recently appointed to the Merced County Superior Court bench by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Goold, who joined the office in 2009, has served as a chief deputy district attorney in both Stanislaus and Marin Counties.
