CDCR and CCHCS continue to follow their robust screening practices for inmates entering or exiting state prison, including taking temperature. Licensed health care staff conduct a Reception Center health care staff conduct a Reception Center health care assessment as part of the initial intake process for each inmate newly committed to CDCR custody.
This assessment, includes:
- A face-to-face interview to review medical records, take a brief health history, and review medication history.
- A physical examination addressing any items identified during the interview
- Vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
